Franziska Brantner
Franziska Brantner
Member of the German Bundestag

Born in 1979 in the Southern Baden town of Lörrach, I took my A-levels at a bilingual German-French grammar school in Freiburg. My experiences in this tri-border-region made me a confident European at an early age.

In 2013 I was elected as a Member of the Deutsche Bundestag for the constituency of Heidelberg. In this term, I am spokesperson for European Policy and parliamentary whip of the parliamentary group of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen. I am a member of the Committee on the Affairs of the European Union and a deputy member of the Foreign Affairs Committee.

I received a Double Degree from the School of International and Public Affairs of the Columbia University in New York as well as from the Sciences Po in Paris, where I graduated top of my class. In 2010 I received my PhD from the University of Mannheim for researching the United Nations’ ability to reform.
