Building Blocks for an Ambitious European Ocean Act

Description

As the Commission held its public consultation on the future European Ocean Act, Europe Jacques Delors and the Oceano Azul Foundation have developed a series of six short policy briefs that set out concrete, actionable recommendations. Covering each pillar of the European Ocean Pact, the Ocean Act Building Blocks make the case for an ambitious legislative framework that brings greater coherence, political direction and implementation across EU ocean policies. The future Ocean Act should go beyond a technical revision of existing rules and provide Europe with the governance framework needed to restore the ocean, support coastal communities and develop a regenerative blue economy.
