A former adviser in Commission President Jacques Delors' cabinet, Christine Verger was Director of the Representation of the European Commission in France (1994-1996), Secretary General of the Jacques Delors Institute (1996-1999) and Secretary General of the Socialist Group in the European Parliament (1999-2004). She was Director of Relations with National Parliaments in the European Parliament. She headed the cabinet of Josep Borrell, President of the European Parliament (2004-2007).
